The House of Liminal Lessons
For the space between “this is no longer me” and “I know what comes next.”
An independent school and publishing house for identity transition, self-understanding, and inner coherence, cultivated through its writing, instruments, and flagship RUIA curriculum.
“You are not lost. You may be between identities.”
We remember the drive to the hospital more clearly than the news itself. The week before the wedding was more vivid than the vows. The boxes half-packed before the new front apartment door.
Psychology offers several explanations for why emotionally charged transitions can become unusually vivid in memory. Here, I am interested in what those moments can do to identity.
Some become threshold moments: points at which an old identity has begun to loosen while the next has not yet fully taken form.
For a little while, what remains is us, unrehearsed.

What is Liminal Lessons?
Liminal Lessons explores the periods in which an old identity, rhythm, relationship, worldview, or way of living no longer fits, while whatever comes next has not yet fully taken form.
So we end up feeling “I don’t know who I am anymore.”
The House turns that confusing territory into something you can understand, navigate, and work with through writing, diagnostic instruments, private correspondence, and the RUIA curriculum.
You move from vague self-awareness to precise self-understanding.
THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE HOUSE
Three Ways Through the House
Wherever you enter, the work moves through three acts: understanding what is happening, locating yourself within it, and learning how to live differently from there.
You do not need to understand the entire House. Begin with the question that feels most alive now.
UNDERSTAND
The Archive
Essays, practices, field notes, poetry, and reflections that give language to what you are experiencing.
NAVIGATE
House Instruments
Diagnostic maps and interactive tools for locating where you are, what is changing, and what deserves your attention next.
CULTIVATE
Lifestyle
Practices, rituals, rhythms, and reflections for bringing greater intention into ordinary life

THE FLAGSHIP SCHOOL
RUIA: Re-Awaken Your Inner Archē
At some point, knowing more about yourself isn’t enough.
RUIA: Re-Awaken Your Inner Archē is a 6×6 curriculum: six Gateways of being explored through six developmental Stages.
It is designed for those who have read, reflected, gathered philosophies, and learned the language of self-awareness, yet still find that body, mind, emotions, spiritual life, creativity, and relationships do not fully cohere.

THE ECHO SERIES
My Favorite Color is Golden
For feeling how the House attempts to articulate things beyond the scope of understanding.
Five doors are enough for a first visit. The rest of the House can wait.
The Founder

I’m Ru, a writer, published poet, founder of Liminal Lessons, and architect of RUIA.
I built the House from a long fascination with what happens when identity begins to loosen: the strange territory between inherited ways of being and a life that feels more consciously inhabited.
The work draws from liminality, philosophy, contemplative and mystical traditions, depth-oriented inquiry, embodiment, and creative practice.
