When your old life no longer fits, begin by studying the terrain.

The Threshold Atlas is an illustrated, interactive navigation instrument for examining that in-between. It is designed to help you look more closely at what is changing, what remains meaningful, and what needs further observation before you decide how to respond.

You work through maps, prompts, and small experiments to build a record of your current terrain. An unanswered question can belong on that map, too.

Inside the Atlas

Across its 36-page interactive field guide, you will find lifetime access to:

  • Threshold Signal Scans and Disturbance Filters for observing changes and examining what deserves attention.
  • The Four-Self Convergence Map for exploring inherited, adaptive, established, and emerging selves.
  • The Six-Chamber Identity Map for looking across body, mind, emotions, spiritual life, creativity, and relationships.
  • Transition-stage reflection and contradiction maps for considering where you may be within a transition and recording tensions that do not yet resolve neatly.
  • Pressure instruments and decision-slowing protocols for examining what is pushing you toward a conclusion.
  • Experiment design tools and guided pauses for testing a possibility and returning to what you notice.
  • A final field report for bringing your observations, open questions, and next small experiment together.

These are reflective instruments. They help you examine your experience; your responses remain interpretations to revisit as you learn more.

How you use it

Access the Atlas through your Liminal Lessons customer account. Its illustrated interactive plates open in your browser, where you can write responses, make selections, and work through the prompts.

Your responses are stored locally in the browser you use. They do not sync through your customer account. Use the included local backup/export tool to keep a separate copy of your work.

We recommend a desktop or laptop for working with the illustrated plates. However, tablet and mobile access are also supported.

Where it belongs in the House

The free Liminal Self-Audit Kit (in your inbox along with the welcome mail) offers a first look at where change may be happening. The Atlas extends that inquiry through pressure and contradiction mapping, decision-slowing work, experiment design, and a final field report.

What the Atlas helps you examine:

  • What is shifting in your daily life, and what may be temporary strain or discomfort.
  • Which roles, beliefs, and ways of being are inherited, adaptive, established, or emerging.
  • What still feels coherent and worth preserving.
  • Where body, mind, emotions, spiritual life, creativity, and relationships seem to pull in different directions.
  • Which expectations, fears, preferences, and pressures may be influencing your interpretation.
  • What needs more observation before a larger decision, and what small experiment could help you learn more.

The work leaves room to retain an inherited belief after examining it, to question an attractive possibility, and to discover that something difficult still matters to you.

What you are working toward

A personal field report: what appears to be changing, what you want to preserve, which tensions need more attention, what remains undecided, and one small experiment to help you explore what comes next.

You can begin while the next identity is still unnamed. The first task is to see more clearly where you are standing.
